After hosting a massive beauty sale for my co-workers at my full-time job, I still find myself sifting through containers filled to the brim with products I haven’t tried (or forgot about). That was precisely the case last weekend when I randomly drew my Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Fiore. The best decision I made all weekend was painting my pout with this opaque hot pink hue. It saturates lips instantly without the drying effect or smudge-factor associated with most lipsticks. It’s infused with vitamin E and avocado oil to keep lips soft and hydrated—a must when it comes to facing cold temperatures. I’ll be stashing this in my purse on Thanksgiving because it lasted all day, only requiring one minor touch-up.
Naturally Nouveau Makeup at Rebecca Minkoff
On Monday we talked about pale blue nails and yesterday I shared my new affection for texturized ponytails. Today, I’m sharing with you my favorite makeup look from the spring/summer Rebecca Minkoff show. Stila always kills it with its romantic beauty looks. Sarah Lucero, Stila Cosmetics’ Global Director of Creative Artistry, wanted to complement the “bohemian pastels and gauzy romanticism of Rebecca’s collection.” Lucero focused on petal pink hues and softly illuminated skin with an unexpected sheen. If you haven’t already noticed from my beauty trend coverage, I have a thing for low-maintenance makeup routines. This trend totally fits the bill.
Here’s a breakdown of what was used on the eyes, lips and face:
Eyes Are The Window Shadow Palette in Mind
Smudge Stick in Espresso
Mile High Mascara
Color Balm Lipstick in Vivienne
All over Shimmer Powder in Kitten (I desperately need this!)
Stay All Day Foundation & Concealer
Backstage beauty tip: Lucero used an all over shimmer powder in Kitten (a best-selling Stila shade) to create a soft, dewy glow. Lucero recommends lightly dusting the warmer shade on the apples of your cheeks, and the lighter hue above your cheekbones.
What’s your take on this look? Would you try this at home?

Backstage Beauty at Miami Swim Week: Stila + Clover Canyon
I’m interrupting this week’s regularly scheduled content to share one beauty look from Miami Swim Week that makes me want to go out and purchase every product used in this look. Celebrity makeup artist and global artistic director for Stila Cosmetics, Sarah Lucero, was the lead makeup artist for the Clover Canyon show. Needless to say, Sarah’s work is impeccable. The look was a “sun kissed siren.” The makeup was minimal with a fun pop of color. “Skin was kept young, fresh and healthy and just warmed up with orange tones on both the face and lip,” she says. Read on to see what products she used for eyes, lips and face.
Eyes: Light dusting of the Jezebel Eyshadow from the new Eyes Are The Window Shadow Palette in Spirit (sneak peek from Fall 2014), and curled lashes and Stila’s new Mile High Lashes Mascara (also out this fall!). For brows, Stay All Day Waterproof Brow Color and Tinted Brow Gel.
Lips: A blend of Avery and Valentina Color Balm Lipsticks pressed into the lips for a soft punch color. (side comment: I definitely need to try mixing different shades together)
Face: Light concealer and Stay All Day 10-in-1 HD Illuminating Beauty Balm, a custom blend of Gladiola Convertible Color and Peony Convertible Color depending on the skin tone and tan level.

Now It’s My Turn To Pop The Question…
I wanted to ask my closest friends to be my bridesmaids in a cute but cost-effective way. A bottle of wine or champagne seems to be a popular choice these days but I wanted to do something different. The idea popped up when I was organizing my beauty closet. A gal can never turn down lip gloss! My friends over at Stila Cosmetics sent me a gracious package of their best selling lip gloss trios in dessert-inspired shades with sweet scents to match including Kiss & Pout (a medley of pink and caramel neutrals) and Read My Lips (pictured above). A perfect way for a beauty blogger bride-to-be to say, “Now, it’s my turn to pop the question…” I wrapped the trios up in tissue paper tied up with recycled ribbon and included a personal note. I spotted this adorable stationery at Home Goods. I can never say no to green and polka dot prints. I’m still in the process of asking some of my friends to be in the wedding but hopefully they say yes!
For all my married readers, how did you ask your friends/family to be in your wedding?
