Lately my Glossier pink bubble wrap pouch is hoarding my favorite lip products and according to my recent Twitter poll, it has been requested to share what’s in my makeup pouch.
When I made the switch from wearing a crossbody bag to a classic tote for work, the real estate in my LV Neverfull nearly tripled—so much so that I struggled coming up with what to fill it with. And in case you’re wondering, I comfortably fit my small agenda, a card case, coin purse, checkbook and of course my Glossier pink pouch.
I heavily rely on the best moisturizing lip balms during the cold winter months. Usually insufferable chapped lips hit me in January when it’s really really cold but I’ve been sick this week and I find myself frequently reaching for some to keep my lips nice and soft.
I’m a tough critic when it comes to lip balms. First and foremost, they need to be moisturizing for a solid few hours (at least), they need to feel good on my lips (I hate that sticky, smothering feeling), and it’d be nice if they eliminate lip lines. Bonus points if I can get that Victoria’s Secret model pout. Hey a girl can dream right?!
File the Glossier Black Tie Set as a gift to give… and get for yourself.
I have a habit of always wanting to splurge on myself right before the holiday season. I love gift giving (and getting)—it’s my love language. I thought I would treat myself to this kit in hopes of not having to drop even more on a bunch of other beauty products.
The Glossier Black Tie Set is a four-piece limited edition set filled with makeup staples for special occasions and just in time for the holiday season. This is perfect for the beauty junkie who has everything (thanks to the limited-edition products) or the minimalistic beauty. Here’s a quick breakdown of what you’ll find in this box:
The No. 1 Pencil Eyeliner in Graphite, a soft black that’s easy to glide on eyes for a simple flick or a smoky eye.
Haloscope Highlighter in Moonstone, an opalscent glaze with flecks of pink and blue. I’m a highlighter fanatic so I never leave the house without applying a little on my cheekbones, brow bone and the Cupid’s bow.
Clear lip gloss—I was actually the least excited about this product prior to getting it but now it holds a permanent residence in my Louis Vuitton Favorite PM bag. I’m always reaching for it because it’s the easiest lip product to apply on the go and I never have to worry about it matching my outfit.
Glossier nail polish in signature pink—This polish has a polyester resin that attaches to the nail to minimize drying time—making it easy to apply day-of for those holiday parties. Personally, since I’m on a budget this season I’ve decided to cut back on gel manicures and pedicures at the salon and this has been the perfect replacement.
Cyber week sales are in full force! Glossier is offering 20% off sitewide and free shipping, which includes this limited-edition set. But hurry! Offer ends today, 11/28.
What’s on your beauty wish list this holiday season?
My fall makeup routine has been pretty very low maintenance, but now that cooler weather has started to trickle in, that may change. If there’s one thing that has been consistent about my makeup routine, it’s my love for any product that gives me dewy, glowy skin. If it helps illuminate—sign me up! Read on to know more about my fall makeup routine and go-to products.
Time hasn’t been on my side this summer. And this heat wave has me moving. so. slow. Which is why I’m heavily relying on a quick and easy makeup routine. Forget foundation, forget eyeliner… heck, even eyeshadow. Let me tell you about my five-minute makeup routine. Less is more and it’s oh so sweet.
First and foremost—I never walk out my front door until I’ve applied moisturizer. Clinique Turnaround Daytime Revitalizing Moisturizer in Rosy Glow has a perfect pearly finish. Seriously, I would be OK if I didn’t bother with a tinted moisturizer.
Lately I haven’t been wearing eyeshadow but to help prevent oily lids I’ve been using my trusty Laura Mercier Eye Basics in Linen. For these hot summer August days, it’s been working.
While I’m actually on the hunt for a new mascara, I’ve been using Benefit They’re Real Mascara Tinted Lash Primer daily. I rely on this heavily when I do opt for mascara because it makes it so much easier to remove at night.
For that no makeup makeup look (and dewy skin) Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint is my go-to… especially during this horrific humid weather. My skin can actually breathe while wearing this tinted moisturizer. Plus, no need for a brush or sponge to apply. I find that my fingertips work best.
I like accentuating my cheekbones and cupid’s bow so I use Clinique Sculpting Highlight and blend with my fingertips. It has a pretty sheen to it without looking sparkly.
There’s only one bronzer that I love and it’s The Body Shop Honey Bronzing Powder—this all-over matte bronzer gives my pale complexion just the right amount of color. I use a fluffy IT Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe Airbrush Powder & Bronzer #1.
Finally, I’ve been wearing Glossier Generation G in Jam on my lips. I love this deep berry shade and it’s my favorite matte lipstick right now.
