My fall makeup routine has been pretty very low maintenance, but now that cooler weather has started to trickle in, that may change. If there’s one thing that has been consistent about my makeup routine, it’s my love for any product that gives me dewy, glowy skin. If it helps illuminate—sign me up! Read on to know more about my fall makeup routine and go-to products.
Magic Wands: Current Mascara Favorites
$4,000—that’s the amount the average woman will spend in her lifetime on mascara. If you’re a major beauty product junkie, that number probably doesn’t scare you but if you consider yourself to be pretty low-maintenance, then it’s best that you invest in a few tubes for every occasion. Personally, I never walk out the front door without a coat or two of mascara. On the weekends I like to keep things fuss-free and mascara keeps me looking awake and polished. From lengthy tubes to hourglass wands, I’ve rounded up my current mascara favorites.
This isn’t the first time I’ve reviewed Benefit They’re Real! Mascara and I constantly reach for this tube when I want to lift and separate lashes while lengthening (it’s like a push-up bra for your lashes). I highly recommend using it in conunction with Benefit’s little sister Tinted Lash Primer because it makes it easier to remove at night.
With each coat of Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara, my lashes look more luscious and dramatic. The want can get a little clumpy so occasionally I’ll wipe the excess formula before I start applying. If you want more volume, this tube is perfect for date night.
The hourglass wand on Ciate London Wonderwand Intensely Volumizing Mascara really works wonders without clumping. One coat gives you carbon black lashes, two coats gives the illusion of wearing false lashes (perfect for weddings and special occasions).
I’m used to layering lash primers to enhance my eye look but this Pixi by Petra Lengthy Fiber Mascara has the opposite effect. Apply a coat on top of your favorite mascara and this will instantly give you longer, luscious lashes. I like to carry it with me when I travel if I need a quick touch-up or use it when I take my look from day to night.

Everyday Neutral Eyeshadow Palette
I’ll be the first to admit that I suck at doing my own eye makeup—specifically eyeshadow. I literally have to watch the same YouTube tutorial 15 times before I really feel comfortable and know what I’m doing. I always find myself overwhelmed by an eyeshadow palette with more than four colors. I say it all the time—I’m a beauty product junkie and I love trying new looks but I am no professional makeup artist. If you can relate and in need of an effortless look without relying on a bunch of tools or colors, then you’ll love Benefit They’re Real! Big Sexy Eye Kit. There’s no need to try and play matchmaker between crease and shadow colors, worry about having an assortment of eye makeup brushes, and absolutely no application fuss. While I’ve always thought Benefit has the most creative and fun packaging, I’m not in love with this packaging. The boxy metal kit is a little inconvenient for girls on the go but totally worth keeping on your vanity at home for effortless eyeshadow looks.
Here’s what you get: three easy 1-step eyeshadow duos in beyond nude, naughty neutral and bombshell brown and one amazing ShadowBlender applicator.
Here’s how easy it is: Slide the custom ShadowBlender across the eyeshadow pan. Sweep the blender across your eyelid and bam! You look pretty now.

My Five-Minute Makeup Routine
Time hasn’t been on my side this summer. And this heat wave has me moving. so. slow. Which is why I’m heavily relying on a quick and easy makeup routine. Forget foundation, forget eyeliner… heck, even eyeshadow. Let me tell you about my five-minute makeup routine. Less is more and it’s oh so sweet.
First and foremost—I never walk out my front door until I’ve applied moisturizer. Clinique Turnaround Daytime Revitalizing Moisturizer in Rosy Glow has a perfect pearly finish. Seriously, I would be OK if I didn’t bother with a tinted moisturizer.
Lately I haven’t been wearing eyeshadow but to help prevent oily lids I’ve been using my trusty Laura Mercier Eye Basics in Linen. For these hot summer August days, it’s been working.
While I’m actually on the hunt for a new mascara, I’ve been using Benefit They’re Real Mascara Tinted Lash Primer daily. I rely on this heavily when I do opt for mascara because it makes it so much easier to remove at night.
For that no makeup makeup look (and dewy skin) Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint is my go-to… especially during this horrific humid weather. My skin can actually breathe while wearing this tinted moisturizer. Plus, no need for a brush or sponge to apply. I find that my fingertips work best.
I like accentuating my cheekbones and cupid’s bow so I use Clinique Sculpting Highlight and blend with my fingertips. It has a pretty sheen to it without looking sparkly.
There’s only one bronzer that I love and it’s The Body Shop Honey Bronzing Powder—this all-over matte bronzer gives my pale complexion just the right amount of color. I use a fluffy IT Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe Airbrush Powder & Bronzer #1.
Finally, I’ve been wearing Glossier Generation G in Jam on my lips. I love this deep berry shade and it’s my favorite matte lipstick right now.

Bronzing with Benefit Cosmetics
On Instagram, I made a vow to try more self-tanning beauty products. My natural complexion is pretty ghostly, but I rarely go out in the sun without slathering on SPF50. Benefit Cosmetics recently expanded their Hoola bronzer collection and this pale girl put these products to the test.
