L’eau Down: My Top Fragrances for Every Occasion
After years of spritzing countless fragrances at Ulta, Sephora and a bevy of department stores, I have finally completed my fragrance wardrobe… for now. For me, scents that catch my attention evoke a feeling or memory—something that will transport me to a particular season is even better. While it might seem like it was an easy collection to accumulate, I definitely didn’t discover these all at once. In fact, it took me an extremely long time to even find one fragrance I could wear for more than one occasion. So with that, I’m going to share my top fragrances for every occasion.

Confessions of a Luxaholic: My Luxury Wish List
Hi, my name is Kara and I’m a luxaholic. I’ve always had an affinity for designer goods and my luxury wish list keeps growing. Lucky for my wallet, I happen to be incredibly indecisive, so when it comes to big purchases, I prefer to think it through before I take the plunge (and sometimes it’s too late). There’s nothing worse than buying something on a whim and regretting it later on.
In the last couple of years, I’ve been very thoughtful about each and every purchase (case in point: my beautiful Louis Vuitton). Which is why I decided to share my current luxury wish list and gather thoughts on whether these items are worth the splurge.

I normally don’t splurge on shoes, but these Chloe flats are everything. The scalloped edge and ankle strap make this super chic for work or play. I splurged on my first pair of Chloe flats last year and while the price was steep, these are the most comfortable shoes I own.
I’ve been eyeing this patchwork denim crossbody by Rebecca Minkoff for almost a month now. I love the silvertone hardware and fringe trim. Compared to other designer handbags I am covering right now, this one that bad but I’m debating if this is too trendy and I will get buyer’s remorse. What do you think?
Joie is one of my favorite luxe apparel brands and I’m in love with this classic and gorgeous cap-sleeve lace dress. It’s pretty perfect for almost any occasion PLUS, it’s on sale! Great deals like this one don’t last long so maybe it’s time to pull out my credit card…
Green is my favorite color so naturally this Rebecca Taylor tweed jacket caught my eye. I’m hoping it will go on sale later this season.
La Mer cream is the crème de la crème of moisturizers, and if I had a limitless beauty budget, this would be mine. Until then, tiny sample sizes will do.
Are you a luxaholic? What’s on your wish list right now?

L’eau Down: Folle de Joie Eau de Parfum
The scent: Joie Folle de Joie Eau de Parfum
The story: Folle de Joie—which means “crazy with joy”— is a fragrance that transports you to the beaches of California or the romantic streets of Paris.
The notes: It has a distinct blend of woodsy and floral notes
In three words: Playful, fresh and floral
My thoughts: I first remember trying this scent when I subscribed to Birchbox. It wasn’t until I recognized the scent on a co-worker at my 9 to 5. I’ve always been the first to confess that I have never had a signature scent. But this fragrance has flipped me. I can’t get enough of this woody and floral fragrance. It’s strong enough to leave a lasting impression and light enough not to disturb any small space or cubicle. I spray on my pulse points for a long-lasting effect and I’ve been applying the hand cream in the morning and at night. Here’s the kicker though—Joie discontinued the fragrance. It’s got a hefty price tag but I swear, it’s worth every penny. And yes, it’s become my signature scent for spring and summer.
***6/7/2017 Update*** Good news everyone! Joie has restocked Folle de Joie! You can now purchase it here.
