Last Wednesday I celebrated the launch of Mischo Beauty Luxury Nail Lacquer in Georgetown at Toka Salon. I had so much fun co-hosting the evening with fellow beauty blogger Ashley Weatherford of August Skin. Check out some snapshots from the night below!

Remember my philosophy about indulging in a few drinks before going shopping? Well, it looks like I’m not the only one who enjoys a glass of wine before a trip the mall. This Saturday, I’ll be at Vino Volo at Tysons with Saks Fifth Avenue hosting their Flights of Fashion event. I’m thrilled to be hosting an event that combines two of my favorite things: really great wine and designer clothes. And just for the record, I love clothes just as much as I love makeup.

Last night I headed downtown for the Shobha launch party soiree. Complete with deelish cupcakes, fresh fruit on a stick, hors d’oeuvres and some very tasty cocktails, I was able to tour the newly opened luxury hair removal space.
I’m loving the orange carpet they pulled out for this soiree!
Known for the best brow shaping and bikini waxings, Shobha boasts its own all-natural formulas (some of which are secret family recipes) and unique application methods, proving less pain and less time (most of their services don’t take longer than 15 minutes!). The luxury hair removal salon also offers natural product offerings like Shobha Ingrown Relief Lotion and Rosewater Calming Gel among other goodies.
The lovely founder, Harvard MBA and hair removal guru, Shobha Tummala. She was so sweet in person!
What are you waiting for?! Head to Shobha and book yourself a brow threading service or bikini waxing!
Drybar, the leading hair blowout destination, is close to reaching its 1,111,111th client—and the fabulous hair shop is celebrating by giving away free monthly blowouts FOR LIFE to one lucky duck customer who books that special blowout! This is basically my version of winning the lottery.
It’s hard to believe Drybar opened shop just three years ago in the Brentwood, CA neighborhood that has now grown in to 28 shops nationwide (proud to say two of which are in the DC area!).
But the celebration for this huge milestone does not stop at just one lucky customer. Now through Sunday, June 23rd, anyone that purchases $100 or more of Drybar products or tools online or in-store (think must-have hair tools like the Buttercup blow dryer and can’t-live-without hair products like Money Maker Flexible Hold Hairspray among other favorites), will get a blowout on the house.
P.S. If you’re in the DC or Bethesda area this weekend, make sure to follow @thedrybar on Twitter for the DC Scavenger Hunt! Drybar is hiding blowout coasters all over DC and Bethesda, posting clues as to their whereabouts on Twitter. Basically, the beauty version of Where’s Waldo.
Last Friday I donned a floral dress and my (comfortable) J.Crew Mari sandals in shocking pink before descending downtown (and by downtown, I mean downtown Bethesda) for the annual Front Row Bethesda with this year’s celebrity guest, Jessica Alba.
I checked out of work early so I could get in line for Alba’s book signing (I immediately jumped to the chapter on honest beauty while waiting). My interaction with Alba was short, but sweet. Only short because I forgot what I wanted to say and all I could get out was, “I love your hair!” Which I really did. Her high ponytail almost made me wish I had long hair again. Almost.
Following the signing, I noshed on sliders and Georgetown Cupcakes while sipping on specialty cocktails at Redwood before the fashion show. I had the chance to meet Georgetown Cupcake founders, Sophie LaMontagne and Katherine Kallinis (who are Greek, by the way… so obvs I had to introduce myself) and chatted with them the upcoming Greek Festival and how I should buy a Hermes bag (although, it was a very genuine recommendation, I don’t think I’ll be able to afford a bag like that in my lifetime).
Check out The Front Row recap in photos below!

The Front Row fashion show featured local retailers including my favorites, Ginger, Luna and Francesca’s Collection. I fell in love with this green lace Joie dress that was in the show.
