If you were never a pastel polish kind of girl, Butter London’s new summer 2013 collection has the perfect alternative with its new trio of kaleidoscopic brights to incorporate in to your summer nail wardrobe. The new Bespoke Pop Art Trio includes a tropical pink shade (Primrose Hill Picnic), a buttercup yellow (Cheeky Chops) and a bright blue cream (Keks). I personally can’t wait to get my hands on Cheeky Chops, mainly because I don’t really have that many shades of yellow in my nail polish collection (as if I need anymore polishes though).
The collection also includes new creamy Lippy Lipstick shades in Come to Bed Red, Alcopop (a bright pink) and Queen Vic (a gorgeous deep fuchsia).

After a weekend of dining, shopping and gambling (and more shopping after that), instead of being productive and planning out my blog posts for the week, I opted for the lazy route and did what any beauty blogger would do on their day off. I gave myself a DIY mani using Pure Ice nail polish.
Lately I’ve been opting for pastel hues or bright neon shades, so when I received samples of the summer nail collection, I instantly removed my previous chipped polish and opted for “Fairy Godmother,” a pretty orchid cream purple. These drugstore polishes are free of formaldehyde, toluene and DBP and are less than $2 a pop (how’s that for nail junkies on a budget?). The summer collection boasts fun, bright candy color hues in creamy and glitter finishes. Consider it the drugstore doppelgänger to the luxe Deborah Lippmann line. Happy Mani Monday!
Pure Ice nail polish, $1.99 each; available for purchase on walmart.com
Pure Ice gifted me with nail polish but all opinions in this post are my own.
What happens when an avant-garde Parisian shoe designer meets a luxury and color adventurous beauty brand? They create the ultimate spring/summer beauty collaboration: six pairs of nail polish and two blushes. The Pierre Hardy for NARS collection is now available online, and my nails couldn’t be happier!
The polish pairs and blush hues are inspired by Hardy’s summer 2013 shoe designs, featuring cool color combos and patterns. I was smitten with their idea of packaging polishes in pairs wrapped in mini shoeboxes. Below, I coated my fingers in Pierre Hardy for NARS “Sharks” pairing, two sweet shades of yellow and lavender. Since I’m a DIY nail art failure, I decided to color block my nails the “old fashioned way.” Check out the complete collection here.
My NARS manicure and my new favorite spring handbag that I got a great deal on at T.J.Maxx.
Painting my nails on the bench outside the office where I work full-time, you know, the norm.

I also happened to be wearing a floral top that day. Coincidence? I think not…

I scream… you scream… we’re all screaming for Deborah Lippmann Staccato nail polish collection for spring! Mixing pretty pastel hues with speckled black glitter, I’m obsessed with the spring trio, “I’m Not Edible,” ”Polka Dots and Moonbeams,” and “Rockin’ Robin.” This nail polish collection has me reminiscing about sundresses, lazy summer pool days and… you guessed it, my favorite guilty pleasure, ice cream. (Just for the record, I’m a devout cookies n’ cream kind of girl.)
Where you work in a creative or conservative office environment, these hues are subtle and sweet. Which one is your favorite?
Ever since I saw this photo on Pinterest, I was inspired to dig through my overflowing collection of sorbet nail polish and recreate this look for spring. I know pastels are big too but for me, sorbet nail polish hues just seem to look better with my fair skin tone, not to mention has me seriously craving warmer weather (and maybe a sorbet cone).
If you’re nail art challenged like myself, then you’ll appreciate this shortcut to a DIY manicure that’s fresh for spring and will match pretty much with anything from your spring wardrobe. Here are my four polish picks for recreating this mani at home:
