While Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale has me slightly itching for fall (and cooler temperatures), there are still a few summer beauty styles I can’t get enough of. Case in point: salt sprays. They are a wild mane’s best friend when you just don’t feel like dealing with the heat of a blow dryer or picking up the straightener (or if you desperately miss the beach). Today, I’ve rounded up the best salt sprays for hair (and for any budget)!
Summer Travel Staple: LUSH Beach Box
I have an obsession with miniature sized beauty products. Case in point: the new limited edition LUSH Beach Box.
Perfect for any long-weekend or beach getaway, the Beach Box kit is packed with an Ocean Salt Face & Body Scrub, Sea Spray, Seanik Solid Shampoo, Dream Cream Lotion, and Sea Vegetable Soap, all packaged in a cute eco-friendly mini portable brown box. Basically, everything you can’t live without when you’re on vacay.
Currently, I can’t stop spritzing my locks with the Sea Spray, a hair spray that adds shine to natural tresses and boasts a pretty floral perfume scent to refresh grimey hair. It’s got a hint of grapefruit in the spray, and for that, I love it. I also sampled the Dream Cream Lotion, a rich buttery cream that instantly moisturizes parched skin without any leftover greasy residue. The Ocean Salt Face and Body Scrub smells ah-mazing, not to mention cleared my pores and small blemishes over the course of just a couple of applications. I’m saving the soap and solid shampoo for my trip to the beach in July.

The Triple Threat: Lips, Skin & Shiny Hair
Soft lips, great skin and shiny hair. That’s all I ask for these days. Call me crazy, but I look forward to using these products so much during the week that I may as well marry them.
Here’s why:
1. Soft Lips: The key to having soft lips is a two-step process. Exfoliate and moisturize. I like to exfoliate with LUSH‘s Sweet Lips Lip Scrub ($9). First of all, it smells amazing. Secondly, it tastes amazing. [I’m not going to lie, there’s a good chance I bought this for snacking purposes.] And thirdly, it’s a must for the lipstick/lip gloss obsessed. Castor sugar will gently exfoliate your lips without being too abrasive.
2. Great skin: There’s no denying everyone wants great skin. Daily moisturizers, face masks and creams are a necessity for everyone and all skin types. I have an affinity for Glam Glow’s Mud Mask ($69). Not only can I feel my skin tightening while I use this product, but I can see the change immediately after. It’s my Saturday morning ritual.
3. Shiny hair: I’m about to share my deepest, darkest secret. I’m not proud of this, but in my defense, I had no idea this particular brand was so bad for your hair. (I can hear my cosmetology student sister screaming blasphemy right about now). I won’t name names, but I used to use this mainstream shampoo/conditioner product all the time. Until, I had a brush with fate and met the love of my tresses: Evolvh. I love their entire hair care line ($21-$28). It’s eco-friendly meets luxury meets must-have. I used to be the girl that after a while using a shampoo/conditioner, I’d get tired of it and move on to something else. Unlike my former hair care relationships, I think this one is a keeper.
