The holiday party season is the perfect excuse to wear false lashes for your holiday glam makeup look. I’ve sampled a bevy of drugstore and high-end false lashes but nothing comes close to Esqido mink lashes, known for their genuine mink fur that can be worn up to 30 times. Their lashes are so luxe and I never have any problems or snafus when wearing them!
For this look, I wanted the focus to be on my eyes. I’m still loving my NARS Dual Intensity Eyeshadow in Phoebe, which can be applied wet or dry. During the day, I prefer separated and defined lashes and at night, I like to kick it up a notch using Lancôme Grandiose Mascara. The Swan Neck Wand proves for an easy application to lengthen, lift and volumizes lashes. Now it’s time for falsies! If you’re wearing a brand new pair of Esqido mink lashes, make sure you measure the length of the false lash so it fits your eye shape. If it’s too long, cut the outer edge with a pair of scissors. Check out my simple step-by-step tutorial on how to apply false lashes like a pro. For this look, I’m wearing Esqido Little Black Lash. I highly recommend checking out their Holiday Lash Guide to help you find the perfect pair. Finally, Stila Stay All Day Liquid Liner is my all-time favorite liner and I use it post-application to fill in any gaps or cover up any excess lash glue. It’s amazing how a simple pair of false lashes can make a big difference in a beauty look!

Special thanks to Esqido for sponsoring this post!
Back in the day, I was such a teeny bopper (just ask my sis). So it’s no surprise I have a serious girl crush on Katy Perry. I was lucky enough to meet her last summer on her California Dreams tour and ever since, I’m always obsessing over her ever-changing hair, makeup, and beauty styles. I knew she had a false eyelash collaboration with Eylure in the works but it wasn’t until a couple months ago I spotted her packaged false goodies at the drugstore (and I was sold!). Thanks to the DC summer humidity, I couldn’t rock my new lashes until the weather was cooler and this weekend I finally go to pimp them out!
The lashes are reusable, handmade and 100 percent natural self-adhesive strips that come with an itty bitty bottle of lash glue (perfect to stash in any clutch or small purse). Katy’s line (yeah we’re like on a first name basis) offers a bevy of lash styles from ‘Sweetie Pie‘ (a subtle, natural strip) to ‘Oh My‘ (think Snookie lashes on steroids). I tested out ‘Sweetie Pie‘ Saturday night for The Renwick Gallery of The Smithsonian American Art Museum for their “40 under 40: Craft Features” exhibition and fashion show (post on that coming later!) and they instantly opened up my eyes for the evening. About halfway through, a small portion of the lash was starting to pop off my lid. I forgot to pack the lash glue and you can only pat down your eye awkwardly in public so many times… so I pulled it off and called it a night. I gave them another go the next day for a fall blogger photoshoot with Ginger Boutique and that time, I came prepared! Aside from a mini lash mishap, I quickly glued that sucker back on and didn’t have any problems the rest of the shoot.
The Verdict: If you love to play with false lashes and get ‘glammed’ up for the evening, it’s worth trying given the price. Just don’t leave home without the lash glue!
