This unusually warm weather (well, maybe not yesterday’s weather but the three days prior) has me so ready for spring. My nails are the first to flip—but it’s still a little too soon before I break out the bright coral and hot pink. From pale blues to off duty nudes, here’s a snapshot of my go-to neutral nail polish picks.
Top row, L to R: Deborah Lippman shade in blue orchid, Cupcakes and Cashmere x Formula X in Latte Run, Pink Outside the Glossybox by OPI; Middle: NCLA Mostly Sunny with a Chance of Sprinkles, Tenoverten The Foundation and The Shield, Aimee Song x Formula X; Bottom: Deborah Lippmann Misty Mornings, Ciate x Olivia Palermo in Sundays, Butter London in Muggins (similar here)
I realized that not all of these shades are available (what can I say, I like to hoard nail polish) so I found some other similar shades you can check out below!
Are you anxious for the spring season? What polish hues are you wearing?
I’ve had a Sephora gift card in my wallet for some time now and I still have yet to use it—because if you’re a product junkie like me, I want to make sure I only use it on the best beauty goods.
I’ve been browsing the website and putting together my Sephora haul wish list. Readers, maybe you can help? If you’ve tried any of these products, I would love your input on whether it’s worth clicking “add to cart.”
I’m a terrible blogger—while I’ve been beachin’ it in Ocean City, I’ve been slacking on checking my emails and keeping track of important dates… like the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. One of the biggest shopping events of the year kicks off this Friday but Nordy card holders have early access to shop now. I’ve rounded up five beauty exclusives under $50 below.
The Bold Lip Essentials:
I love a good bold lip and when I wear one, I always reach for NARS. This set includes their Satin Lip Pencil in Yu (shocking pink), Luxembourg (vivid watermelon), Provocative Red (a limited-edition fuchsia rose), and a mini sharpener. The lip pencils are so portable and easy to apply, you’ll use these year round.
Sheer nail polish was a popular beauty trend backstage at 2015 Spring/Summer New York Fashion Week (think Theory, Donna Karan and Badgley Mischka to name a few). Instead of flashy color, Deborah Lippmann previewed shades from her new Whisper Collection, playing with contour, shape, texture, and finish. I’m partial to Like Dreamers Do (far left), a sheer crème pale bisque. And I’ve already planned on wearing Chantilly Lace, a sheer iridescent shimmer pink, on Valentine’s Day. You’ll need at least two coats will to give you just a hint of color. This collection is fresh, young and sophisticated—which makes it a must-have for my stash.
To be perfectly honest—I had no idea the Norstrom Anniversary Sale was going on until my Bloglovin’ exploded with posts from my favorite style bloggers. It prompted me to check out Nordstrom’s beauty tab and to my pleasant surprise, I spotted quite a few beauty exclusives that are wallet friendly and I wanted to share them with you!
A gal can never have too many hair ties. These Emi-Jay Hair Ties are soft on tresses without creating any awkward crimps.
My vanity has been filling up with NARS makeup goodies—I seriously can’t get enough. This NARS Cheek Palette has been on my wish list for a while now and the price is so right.
I’m a nail polish-aholic so naturally this Deborah Lippmann ‘Recipe for Love’ set is perfect for anyone that loves painting their own digits at home.
There’s something about a tube of Christian Dior Lipstick that makes you feel instantly glamorous. I haven’t had any desire to wear much lipstick in this hot and humid weather but I know this will be my go-to come September! Life is short, buy the lipstick!
Collecting luxe candles is my new favorite beauty hobby… and they come in handy when the power goes out during summer thunderstorms! This Voluspa Two-Wick Tin Candle Trio is normally $40 but right now their on sale for just under $30.
