I have a slight bracelet obsession. I have one overflowing drawer in my dresser dedicated to all my jewelry and wrist wear. Lately I can’t get enough of links bracelets… jumbo links, small links, neon links… you name it, I will love it, buy it, wear it. The two link bracelets (pictured above) are my absolute favorites. I first discovered the LydellNYC oversized gold link bracelet in the pages of Lucky magazine and later purchased it at Bloomingdale’s. I spotted a pretty gold pave links bracelet at J.Crew and then later scored its doppelganger on BaubleBar (for a fraction of the price!).
Thinking of incorporating more links in to your wardrobe? Here are five ways you can wear this gorgeous classic statement bracelet.
Earlier this year, I made the resolution to transform my severe spending ways in to a penny pincher lifestyle. Lucky for my bank account, I can actually afford to pay my bills. Unfortunately, not so lucky for my friends, Michael (Kors), Rebecca (Taylor) and Tory (Burch). Then came along this fun blogger challenge with Tysons Galleria and it restored my faith in fashion (without hurting my wallet).
Tysons Galleria recently launched an incentive for my fellow shopaholic Washingtonians. If you sign up between now and April 30th for the Tysons Galleria Club Membership, you’ll be automatically entered to win a $5,000 shopping spree, and your favorite blogger (ahem) could win a $750 gift card! The membership is free and gives you access to exclusive promotions including retail and restaurant offers, the hottest deals and valuable discounts at your favorite stores and upcoming events (think trunk shows, designer appearances and charity events). You can sign up using this link here!
If you’ve never visited Tysons Galleria… well, you are missing out my fellow shopaholics! Tysons Galleria is my shopping sanctuary. Combining the best of retail (Intermix, J.Crew and Michael Kors to name a few) with great eats (Wildfire, The Cheesecake Factory and my latest obsession Paul Bakery), my shopping experiences there have been nothing short of luxurious (and peace and quiet).
I can’t stop daydreaming about what I would buy if I won a $750 gift card to Tysons Galleria… these are just a few items that would be at the top of my list…
Henri Bendel Whitney Wrap Bracelet, $128; Michael Kors Medium Selma Messenger, $228; J Brand Exclusive Mint Cut-off in mint, $160 (available at Intermix); Chanel Precision Eyelash Curler, $34 (available at Saks Fifth Avenue); Clarisonic Mia2, $149 (available at Neiman Marcus); Bond No. 9 The Scent of Peace, $180 (available at Saks Fifth Avenue); all items are available at Tysons Galleria
I’d love to know what you would buy if you won the $5,000 shopping spree to Tysons Galleria! Leave a comment below and pretend like money is no object, and then sign up here to join The Club while helping a sista out!

As some of you may remember, one of my New Year’s resolutions was to not pay full price for clothes. You see, before Politics of Pretty, I was DC Shop Girl and that Twitter handle alone was borderline dangerous (I mean if I really was going to truthfully brand myself, I should’ve been DC Broke Girl). I guess you could say, last year’s financial woes taught me how to be frugal with my cash flow.
I’m proud to share that I’ve succeeded at scouring for the best deals, thanks to one of my favorites go-to stores, Last Call by Neiman Marcus. Aside from housing my favorite brands (Rebecca Taylor, Theory and Elizabeth and James to name a few), their prices are incomparable to other discount department stores.
So when Neiman Marcus reached out to me about hosting a spring shopping event at their Last Call studio at Congressional Plaza, it didn’t take long for me to say yes! What a better way to kick off the season than a spring shopping event that won’t break the bank? I’m thrilled to host this shopping extravaganza and I hope you can make it! Expect light bites and sips and of course, special discounts on a bevy of designer duds. Who’s in?
My stash of handbags, clutches and totes have certainly taken up a fair amount of space in my closet, but we all know a girl can never have too many handbags. I wrote about Danielle Nicole handbags (the designer is a DC native) and her stylish and economic approach to handbag accessories last year and needless to say, a few Danielle Nicole handbags later, I’m a huge fan of her line (and her prices!).
If you aren’t familiar with Danielle Nicole handbags and her collection of chic totes, satchels and crossbodys, then you’re in luck! Danielle Nicole is partnering with Macy’s at Wheaton Plaza for the launch of her Spring 2013 line with the ultimate shopping/handbag extravaganza. Danielle Nicole, the founder and creative director will be making a personal appearance while those on a budget (like myself) can shop the spring 2013 line. And to make the event even sweeter, anyone who makes a purchase from her line will receive a complimentary Davina crossbody bag. See you there!
Last Friday I attended the VIP Runway Show to kick-off All Access Fashion at Tysons Galleria. This year’s show was presented by Intermix, the latest high-end boutique to join the Tysons clan in mid-October and hosted by Eric Daman, costume designer for the hit CW series Gossip Girl and The Carries Diaries. I was obsessed with multiple looks that came down the runway, especially burgundy leather pants, cozy layered sweaters and pretty pointy toe pumps. But rather than letting me describe to you my long fall wish-list, I recorded the final walk for your viewing pleasure. Let me know what’s on your fall wish list!
