You’d think that since I haven’t been working full-time that I would have plenty of time for a glamorous makeup routine but the reality is this: I rarely leave my house. I’m such a homebody and I rarely attend fancy events so I usually never have a reason to get all dolled up. Even on days when I have to run errands I don’t like to bother with an elaborate makeup routine. Let me tell you about my updated five-minute makeup routine.
First and foremost—I never walk out my front door until I’ve applied a moisturizer. I really love my Glossier Priming Moisturizer. My skin feels soft and plump and it looks refreshed. I also have been really good about applying SPF. Glossier Invisible Shield is my go-to because it’s a clear serum-like formula that I can layer on top of moisturizer.
For that no makeup makeup look (and dewy skin) I apply Bareminerals Complexion Rescue (in the lightest shade Opal). No need for a brush or sponge to apply. I find that my fingertips work best. I also try to gently pat the formula under my eyes so I can skip concealer.
I like accentuating my cheekbones and cupid’s bow so I use Glossier Haloscope in Moon and blend with my fingertips. It has a pretty sheen to it without looking sparkly.
I can only rely a few bronzers for my pale skin and right now Benefit Hoola Matte Bronzer in Lite is doing it for me. I use a sculpting brush from EcoTools to apply to the hollows of my cheeks. For blush, I apply a small dab of Glossier Cloud Paint in Puff.
For a quick eye makeup, I only do two things: first, to help prevent oily lids and brighten my eyes I use my trusty Laura Mercier Eye Basics in Linen. I’ve been using this primer for several years and I love that I can wear it alone.
I recently switched up my mascara routine and instead of testing a new tubing mascara, I opted for an old drugstore favorite, L’Oreal Lash Paradise. When I want to spend more time on my makeup I’ll use the Lash Paradise Primer first but for easy effortless days I just apply the mascara and I get gorgeous voluminous lashes.
For my brows, just two coats of Boy Brow instantly tints, shapes and fills them. Best. Purchase. Ever.
My stash of lip products are always rotating but for a light lip stain I opt for Fresh Sugar Advanced Therapy Lip Treatment (a sheer pink).
