Here, I’m sharing my top tips for smooth and sleek hair.
First, coat your hair with a thermal protectant pre-styler. I like Bumble and Bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil Primer, which makes my hair feel super soft while protecting against heat and UV damage (you can try a travel size for just $11). Next, I recommend sectioning your hair with clips, otherwise it will take much longer when you just grab random sections of hair. I read online that tension is essential—meaning, pulling the hair taut and iron downward from the root will help immensely. After you finishing using the flat iron, use a finishing product—I recommend a light hold hairspray (I like this one because it controls frizz and adds shine without the product feel). Just remember to wait for your hair to cool down first, or you’ll hear your hair sizzle. And finally, properly store your styler. I was gifted with a Styler Carry Case & Heat Mat.
