Pantene Sorry Not Sorry Video

How many times have you said, “sorry”? Probably too many times to count. If I had a quarter for every time I apologized, I would probably own a small chain of beauty boutiques. Earlier this week, Pantene released its latest campaign entitled, “Not Sorry” to spotlight the subtle, yet powerfully behavior of over-apologizing that can be interpreted as minimizing a woman’s strength. When I watched it for the first time I teared up a little. Because I am that woman in every single scene of this video (except swap the baby for a kitten). I over-apologize at work, towards random strangers, sales associates at the mall, and at home. Heck, I even apologize after I have sex. Why do I do this? More than half of the time, I’m never sorry but somehow it’s become so fluid in my language it’s replaced words like “excuse me.” I knew I wasn’t alone after I read this article on The Huffington Post and that’s when it put things in perspective.
