I don’t usually post on Saturdays but tomorrow (Saturday, July 29th) is National Lipstick Day and I want to keep up with tradition and share my favorite lipsticks right now. I’ll keep this short and sweet.
After hosting a massive beauty sale for my co-workers at my full-time job, I still find myself sifting through containers filled to the brim with products I haven’t tried (or forgot about). That was precisely the case last weekend when I randomly drew my Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Fiore. The best decision I made all weekend was painting my pout with this opaque hot pink hue. It saturates lips instantly without the drying effect or smudge-factor associated with most lipsticks. It’s infused with vitamin E and avocado oil to keep lips soft and hydrated—a must when it comes to facing cold temperatures. I’ll be stashing this in my purse on Thanksgiving because it lasted all day, only requiring one minor touch-up.
In celebration of National Lipstick Day, I decided to pay homage with a round up of the best lipsticks for every season. Lipstick may seem like frivolous purchase but just a hint of color can add instant glamour to any look. Personally, lipstick is my go-to purchase when I’ve had a bad day. Whether you’re at a department store or in the drugstore, just remember: Life is short. Buy the lipstick!
NARS Lipstick in Heat Wave is a semi matte orange red and perhaps the only lipstick I opt for in the summer. It’s bright, fun and lasts for hours.
NARS Lipstick in Jungle Red is a timeless red lipstick but you’ll usually only catch me wearing it in the fall. To be honest, I don’t usually like including two products of the same brand but I’d be lying to myself if I picked any other red lipstick other than this. NARS kills it in the lip department.
During the winter holidays, I love to experiment with darker lip shades. Lipstick Queen in Wine Metal is an intense rich berry with a satin-metallic finish. I wore it to my cousin’s wedding last December and remember getting so many compliments!
bareMinearls Marvelous Moxie Lipstick in Fly High is my go-to shade in the spring. This lilac pigment glides on like butter (seriously, no brush needed) for a pout that keeps lips hydrated.
What are your favorite lipsticks for each season?
As much as I love summer, a tinted balm hardly makes a beauty statement compared to a rich, full-bodied lipstick in the fall. Check out my post on Glitter Guide, featuring the hottest fall trends and the best fall lipstick shades.
These picks are tried and true and I did my best to include of a variety of price points. I’d love to hear what you think!
