Call me obsessed, but I love First Aid Beauty’s new Hello Fab collection—fusing skincare with makeup to produce four new fuss-free products. Inspired by athleisure, each product is packed with nourishing superfoods so you can enhance the appearance of your skin over time. Usually I can easily classify if a product is makeup or skincare but even as I type this I’m struggling to categorize this Hello FAB collection…
What it does: This deeply hydrating oatmeal mask helps calm, nourish and smooth distressed skin. Its formula has a blend of protective oats to repair and revive your best and natural complexion.
How to apply: Apply a generous layer over cleansed skin; wait 10 minutes and then rinse. This can be used two or three times per week for dry skin types.
What it felt like: The texture of the mask is exactly what you think an oatmeal mask would feel like. It has a smooth consistency minus the actual oats, but I can definitely feel it working on my complexion.
What I did while I masked: Sitting here as I write about it!
The results: This cold weather is costing my skin a fortune (and I’m not just talking about the cost in beauty products). Between the redness and the dry, flaky texture around my nose, I’m constantly trying to keep my sensitive skin hydrated. After using this mask, my skin instantly felt smooth and clean and fixed my dry patches. Consider this a must-have winter skin essential because I’ll definitely be relying on this on a weekly basis.
Quick tip: If you’re a Sephora Beauty Insider member, this mask qualifies for 2x the points through January 22nd.
Last week I squeezed out the last of my trusty Clinique Revitalizing Daytime Moisturizer in Rosy Glow—forcing me to find another moisturizer in my beauty stash, which led me to my latest obsession: Glowtion.
Lotion + Glow = Glowtion
Pixi Glowtion Day Dew is a lightweight moisturizing formula with a soft, iridescent pearly finish that absorbs easily into skin and smoothes the way for makeup. It has that perfect dewy finish on my complexion that I can’t get enough of—and did I mention the subtle lavender fragrance? The lavender oil calms any morning redness and the mica helps brighten while kaolin purifies.
If you’ve already found your holy grail daytime moisturizer—no worries. This doubles as a highlighter. Simply dab this lightly on your cheekbones and cupid’s bow for a sheer luminous glow. I’ve also read on a few other blogs how they love pairing this with face essence. Don’t know what face essence is? Politics of Pretty contributor, Kait, will break it down for you here.
